Position Overview:
Colorado is excited to welcome a skilled Physician Assistant to its dynamic Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team as a full-time Nocturnist. This is a key role, providing advanced overnight surgical and trauma care within one of the state’s leading high-acuity medical centers. Key Responsibilities:
As a Physician Assistant (PA) in the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team, you will:




  • Provide full-spectrum trauma and acute care surgical services during overnight shifts.




  • Manage trauma admissions, emergency general surgery, and inpatient care.




  • Perform evaluations, develop care plans, and interpret diagnostic tests.




  • Assist trauma surgeons with procedures, resuscitation, and operative support.




  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary clinical team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.




  • Maintain clinical documentation and workflows in the Epic EMR system.




  • Practice autonomously, managing multiple complex tasks appropriately.




  • Support quality, safety, and performance metrics of the Trauma Surgery service.




Requirements



  • Graduate of an accredited PA program with a Master’s degree in PA Studies (REQUIRED)




  • NCCPA Certified (REQUIRED) – no exceptions




  • Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Colorado (REQUIRED)




  • Must be eligible for DEA and Medicare/Medicaid provider status (REQUIRED)




  • Clean malpractice/license history (HIGHLY PREFERRED)




  • No sanctions/exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA (REQUIRED)




  • BLS certification (REQUIRED) – no exemptions




  • Experience: 2+ years in trauma surgery preferred OR completion of a surgical fellowship (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
